Program Description:
All students at MUS participate in group violin classes beginning in second grade and continuing through their third grade year. Instruments are provided by the school and students bring instruments to school each week on their assigned day. Strings classes for second and third graders take place during the school day. In third grade students have the option of either continuing to study the violin or moving on to study the cello or the viola. All second and third grade students will participate in two group recitals per year as well as informal performance opportunities on campus. After third grade, students in fourth, fifth and sixth grade are invited to participate in the MUS Orchestra which practices twice a week outside of the school day.
